MES Continues Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive Tradition

There’s nothing like Thanksgiving to bring people together and remind us all we can be thankful for in our lives. While COVID-19 has changed many things, one thing that hasn’t changed is our annual Thanksgiving food drive. At MES, we value giving back to our communities and helping others, especially during these challenging times. Life is busy, and it can sometimes be easy to forget to show your gratitude for all that you’ve been given; that’s why we make it our priority to give back. We don’t allow for distractions, meetings, and deadlines to become an excuse for why we cannot take time to support and give back to those in need.

During our annual food drive, our employees participated by dropping off canned goods throughout the week. As an organization, we also made a considerable food donation in addition to our employee’s contributions to the Salvation Army. According to the Feeding America report, there is a record increase in the number of people needing help, with an average increase of 60% across the country. Between March and June, roughly 4 in 10 people visiting food banks had not received food assistance before the pandemic. This is why our organization values giving back, especially this year.

We are actively involved with over 40 local charities and organizations, and our list continues to grow every year. This year, our food donations went directly to the Salvation army. As many other charities do, The Salvation Army is committed to opening their arms, hearts, and doors to those who need them. They are working around the clock as their homeless shelters, and food pantries are quickly reaching capacity. That’s why MES continues to support our local charities and continues to give back, especially during these difficult times. We believe in creating meaning in our lives and bettering the lives of the people around us; that’s the MES way.
