MES Continues Year-End Employee Charity Tradition

MES Givesback

It’s the end of the year, and for most organizations, it’s time to time to reflect on wins and losses. Did we meet or exceed financial forecasts? Did we increase the total units sold to last year? Did we reduce inventory and decrease transit times? All common questions organizations ask themselves towards the end of the year. While MES asks similar type questions, a bigger question we asked ourselves was, “did we increase our employee charitable donations this year”?

Every year, MES provides employees $500 to donate to the charity of their choice. As the organization grows in personnel, so too does the employee contributions. It has become an annual tradition for the last 11 years, and more than 50 charities have benefited from the generosity of MES.

Several local and national charities have benefited from this tradition, including the James Cancer Research Center, YWCA, Ronald McDonald House, the Wounded Warrior Project, Special Olympics, animal shelters, and much more. CEO Hiten Shah and CPO Heena Shah started this tradition over 11 years ago and continue to make it a priority for MES. While the employee charity contribution is once a year, MES has an active role in donating time and serving in the community throughout the year. Collecting food for the food bank, patriating in cancer research walks, working at the Ronald McDonald House, and many more!

Giving back is a great way to broaden your perceptions of the world and your community. Whether through financial contributions or donating your time through a local charity, you surround yourself with other people equally dedicated as your to better the community. You can learn so much about how your community works and gain a unique sense of purpose by serving those around you. Of course, it’s also essential for your community as well!
