It’s been a little more than 8 years since Heena Shah came to MES as Chief People Officer. Since then, MES has grown exponentially with a reach that spans 9 countries and includes hundreds of team members in 20+ cities around the world.

Our customers were greatly affected by the global pandemic of 2020 and the subsequent container issues. And frankly, so were we. But we’re not ones to sit idly by and let things unfold organically because that would be disastrous for us and for our customers. Besides, we stand firm in our conviction that with the right strategies we have the power to turn uncertainty into opportunity.

RM prices have softened a bit in China due to the lockdown and lower demand for housing. Pricing outlook for the rest of 2022 and 2023 remains robust – Last 90 days have seen a reduction of about 9% but the end of the year is likely to be around 21000 RMB / Ton.

If the pandemic taught us anything it’s that there is no “normal”—new or otherwise. Instead, what we have is what, perhaps, we should have had all along: smart, nimble supply strategies that work within a world where everything is subject to change, and anything can happen.
